Ten2Two North Herts and Beds held their ever popular ‘Work Ready’ workshop on Wednesday 21st September. It took place at the prestigious Basepoint at Butterfield Business & Technology Park on the outskirts of Luton. Members were part of an interactive morning of sharing experiences. They also  learnt various techniques with the ‘Work Ready’ Career Wheel. This ensures that all bases are covered before starting to actively seek new employment.

The members attending had a variety of career backgrounds. This meant very different reasons for wanting or needing to work on a part-time or flexible basis.  But regardless of those reasons they were all keen to find out how to get their CV in tip-top shape to ensure they stand out from the crowd. They were also offered advice on regaining their confidence in themselves and their abilities. And brought up to date on interview types and techniques.  So when they do secure those all-important interviews, they know what to expect. Attendees were also treated to an inspirational talk from Dawn Fry of The Melting Pot. his was particularly for those members that may be considering setting up their own business.

Fantastic feedback

Some of the feedback we received, both on the day itself and subsequently, really reinforced to us that these workshops are extremely valuable to our members, and can make a huge difference:-

“I really like that Ten2Two is not just about women just returning to work after children. There are so many reasons why we may want part time work. It was good to know that there are other people in the same boat. And good to talk with those people in a non-judgmental confidential forum. I liked the interactive nature of the seminar”

“The emotional and practical costs of going back to work were really thrashed out between us all, it’s good to share! For me I sometimes feel guilty about not being there on tap to help with caring for the family as I do the lion’s share. It can also be giving yourself permission to have your time now”.

“I would just like to say thank you for hosting a great morning. It was full of great ideas.  It seemed to get people thinking and looking at options. It’s nice to meet like-minded people that are looking for work in a positive fun situation. Life and job hunting can be serious at times. You both brought inspiration and a jolly good laugh at the same time!! I am sure everybody that left your seminar felt more positive and I certainly did.”

“Thank you for the ‘Work Ready’ seminar. It was great to meet so many other like-minded members to share experiences with in such a positive way. I’m sure everyone left the session with a confidence boost. And also a plan of action and the knowledge that there is plenty of help and support on offer from Ten2Two. It is refreshing to be in the company of recruiters who are genuinely encouraging members to find the role or path that’s right for them. Whether that ends up being sourced by Ten2Two, via another route or indeed by setting up their own business!”

Just some of the benefits of being a Ten2Two member
