Times are continually changing and growing your business and finding the best talent seems more challenging than ever. Unemployment is at an all-time low and the fight to attract and retain the best talent is competitive and costly.
So how do you tackle this problem? Benefits come in many shapes and sizes. We are seeing some clients introduce the cool groovy work space or adding gym membership. All of this is applaudable and should be encouraged, but is it enough of a benefit to today’s employee?
Lots of research has been done on this subject (including our own found on this website) the one benefit that features in almost 100% of articles is the “F word”. Flexible working.
So are you ready?
As an employer you will have to face the “F word” if you want to continue being innovative and competitive.
There are many variations on the flexible working model, and its benefits to your business. Could it be the part time day 10-4 instead of the 9-5? Or a shorter week. Is it working from home or just the opportunity to flex hours? Our clients constantly tell us how productivity is not affected by offering these terms, and if anything it improves. Our candidates tell us how they love being part of a forward thinking organisation which is enabling their pursuit of other things. It’s a win win.
September is a month where we see many new candidates, in particular mums joining us at Ten2Two. We call this the “back to school back to work” effect! Many of our new candidates are coming back from a career break so can often lack a bit of confidence. As part of our talent attraction, we offer a service which doesn’t just put bums on seats in new jobs.
We offer a range of confidence building workshops to our candidates. These tackle a range of different challenges. Return to work confidence building, CV writing and preparation for interview. These are offered free of charge to all of the Ten2Two community. This enables us to get to know this amazing talent pool a little bit better and assist them with finding that new rewarding role.
