After 14 years as a full time mum I never imagined I would have the opportunity to return to a career within a corporate environment. Being able to start work on a part time basis through the Hargreaves Lansdown Returner’s Programme has allowed me to step back into the workplace whilst still supporting my family.
It all changed when I heard about Ten2Two and how I could find a job to use my skills, but with employers understanding that I was a mum too.
Once my CV was uploaded I started receiving appropriate job adverts straight away and in fact I got the first job I went for. Ten2Two found me a part-time role that was perfect, fitting well with school hours and most importantly meeting my skill criteria and salary expectations! They provided support before the interview, giving me a good background on the company and what they were looking for.
Ten 2 Two have helped me in many ways and initially this was through attending meetings that they offered. I soon realised that I was far from alone in my dilemma of trying to find an appropriate opportunity to return to work after a career break whilst still having constraints involved with bringing up children. I was then brought up to date with the current CV writing style and shown the value of Linked In and Twitter whilst job searching.
After having 2 children the prospect of returning to office work after 15 years was very daunting. After looking at job agencies that are only on the internet it was lovely to come to Ten2Two and actually have friendly, helpful people to talk to.
