Economic confidence buoys the recruitment market

The latest job research by the Recruitment Industry Body, the REC shows that 80% of employers state that economic conditions are getting better. Key findings in July’s edition include:

  • 46% of employers expect confidence in hiring and investment decisions to get better
  • Four in ten (41%) employers increased pay/earnings of their staff in the last year and none reduced pay
  • 74% of hirers plan to add permanent headcount over the next quarter, and 71% plan to do so from September onwards.
