We hope you had a great summer and managed to re-charge your batteries in some way. For many of us with children returning to a new school year, it’s now that the year starts again with new priorities after a summer holiday where things were hopefully less hectic. What are yours?……to get fit, to be on time, to be more organised, or possibly to get that new job? We wouldn’t profess to be able to help with all of these but maybe with getting a new job whether that be with a Ten2Two client or elsewhere using something you’ve learned from a workshop or some networking you’ve done with other Ten2Two members….

Ten2Two research

You may remember that a short time ago we asked you for your input into some research we were doing on your experiences and attitudes to flexible working. Thank you for your input!. You can read our report [here….] with the findings of the research with feedback from over 120 businesses and over 650 professionals from the Ten2Two community.

Our survey describes the benefits from both an employer and employee perspective and the most popular working patterns. The survey also describes the most important characteristics of a flexible worker – something employers can use when recruiting or assessing people for flexible work.

We hope you find it interesting and useful. We’re developing some practical hints and tips using the results and we’ll pass them on as soon as they’re published.

Free Upcoming Events

As you’ve heard us say many times, we aim to be more than an agency and like to foster a community of professionals seeking part-time and flexible work. With that in mind, we have a number of workshops on offer over the coming months. These are free to our members although places are limited so please get in touch as soon as possible if you’d like to come along and meet us.

Returning to Work session – Tuesday 15th September, 10am-12noon, Hildenborough

Are you looking to return to the workplace after a career break, or looking to make a career change? If so, come along to our ‘Returning to Work’ session on Tuesday 15th September. In this workshop we’ll look at a number of practical considerations in getting ready and help you to identify 2-3 tangible steps that will improve your readiness for returning to the workplace. It’s an interactive session with time to meet the Ten2Two team, share ideas and thoughts, ask questions and assess your own preparedness. Of course we’ll spend a little time thinking about your CV and Interviews too.

CV Workshop – Wednesday 30th September 11am-1pm, Sevenoaks

This popular workshop takes you through how to create the best CV you can. Remember your CV is the first step in securing a new role, it’s the selling document which will get you through the door of a potential employer. For many of us our CV has been neglected and not updated to reflect our current skillset and the role we’re now seeking. We’ll look at the best CV for you and discuss a skills based CV. The workshop is interactive, good fun and there is no preparation required, just a willingness to participate and a copy of your latest CV (in whatever state).

Interview Skills Workshop – Friday 9th October 10am-12noon, Tunbridge Wells

Our Interview Skills workshop looks at the different types of interview you might expect and how best to prepare for them. Interviews are stressful enough and being prepared is the key to successfully getting through to the next stage. We’ll share some hints and tips as well as some questions you might want to consider in advance. It’s interactive, fun and a good way to meet other Ten2Two members in a similar situation who always have great tips to sharer from their own experiences.

Mince Pie networking – Thursday 3rd December – 11-1pm, Sevenoaks

We thought we’d try something new this year………an opportunity to come along and meet other Ten2Two members as well the Ten2Two team if you’ve not done so already. We’d love to get an update on your current job requirements or even news about a new job you’ve just started. We’ll talk about our recent placements, clients we’re working on and any tips we’ve learnt in recent months which might help you secure the perfect role………as well as enjoy a mince pie with a cup of coffee!

We do like to meet as many of our members as possible, it really does help when we’re putting you forward to clients. If we haven’t yet met you and you’re not able to make one of these dates, do please get in touch and we’ll organise a time to sit down for a quick chat over coffee.
