Working for Carers workingforcarers.co.uk
Working for Carers is a membership and accreditation scheme for employers, run by a partnership of carer support charities. Research shows that most employers are unaware of how many of their staff members are carers and many working carers don’t realise there is any support available to them. Close to 70% of carers have quit work or reduced their hours due to the stress of juggling work with care, proving that this is a costly issue for employers. Our accreditation demonstrates a positive and proactive approach to identifying and supporting employees who are caring for someone outside of work. Our range of guides and practical resources will help you to:
- Carer proof your policies and practices
- Train your line managers
- Identify and engage with the carers in your workforce
- Support employees juggling work & a caring role, enabling them to stay in work
- Create a caring and supportive workplace for all employees
- Signpost employees to appropriate support services
Through membership of the scheme, you will be directly funding the work of our local charity partners, enabling us to work with more employers and improve support and prospects for the carers in our communities.
