I spoke with a candidate today – she started her new role just 2 weeks ago.  After our initial How are you? How is it going?  questions, she said “I’m in at the deep end and loving it!”

She has joined a small business in Aldershot who are super focussed on growing.  They have a seemingly endless list of ‘things to do’ and she is now ploughing her way through it. Some of it she has the skills to work on right now.  Some items will be put the end of the list for later.  But all of it will be done!  That is why she was hired.

Plans for Growth

Working with an external HR professional and a growth coach, it became apparent that the business needed someone who could do all of the tasks that the owner no longer had time to do.

Experience

More importantly, they needed someone who either knew what they were doing, or had the drive to find out how to do it, without needing any hand-holding – ie: someone with experience under their belt and a pro-active attitude.

Tasks

Invoices, quotes, staff rotas, incoming enquiries, bookings for new site visits, customer services queries, insurance renewals, bank payments, responding to web and phone enquiries, general office admin and likely more – now all being completed by someone who ‘loves to get things done’.

Ten2Two…

We were able to work on this vacancy really quickly – the client saw CVs on a Tuesday, interviews were set up for the Thursday, offer was made on the Friday.

It doesn’t always happen that quickly, but it can if you need it to!

The client also chose to interview at a local coffee shop to make sure candidates felt at ease as the home office is so very small, and interviews were conducted by both business owner and outsourced HR support – it really helps if you have no direct experience of interviewing to have someone with experience there by your side….

Come up for air…

If you need to throw someone in at the deep end, maybe we can help…..
